Avadh Heliconia Clubhouse, Vapi

Approximately 60,000 sq ft of clubhouse interiors serving a gated community of over 100 bungalows. The scope covered every shared space: banquet hall, pre-function areas, gymnasium, spa, children's play area, entertainment zones and restrooms.

Vishal Parmar worked on this project as an interior designer at Urban Studio, Bandra, between 2014 and 2018, assisting Architect Pronit Nath, the practice's founder, through design and execution. His responsibilities ran end to end: design development, selecting every material and element, negotiating with vendors, presenting and defending design decisions to the client, and supervising execution so that what was built matched what was drawn. Sourcing took him to China to select furniture, lighting and finishes directly from manufacturers.

A clubhouse of this kind has to work as several different rooms in one building. A banquet hall and a spa demand opposite things from lighting, acoustics and material palette, yet they sit within one architectural language and one maintenance regime. Resolving that — without the building reading as a set of unrelated rooms — is the substance of the work.

That range is what One Design Project now brings to private residences and hospitality projects in Mumbai.
